What you Need to Know

TRAVEL

Your journey to Morotai marks the beginning of an unforgettable escape — a seamless blend of exploration and tranquility. Before you travel, ensure your passport is valid for at least six months from your arrival date. Most nationalities are eligible for a Visa on Arrival (VOA), valid for up to 30 days, with the option to extend once if you wish to stay longer in paradise.

Domestic flights typically allow 15–20 kg of checked baggage per passenger. For easier transfers between flights, vehicles, and boats, we recommend using soft-sided luggage.

The Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) is the local currency. ATMs and small banks are available in Daruba town, though options are limited elsewhere on the island.
Please note that credit cards are not accepted at the resort, so we recommend bringing enough cash for incidentals. However, most shops and outlets in Daruba town do accept major credit cards.

Electricity operates at 220V using two-round-pin European-style sockets. Each villa provides universal adaptors for your convenience.

AT THE RESORT

Morotai enjoys a tropical climate year-round, with temperatures averaging 27–32°C. Expect warm days, refreshing sea breezes, and occasional tropical showers that bring new life to the island. Light, breathable clothing and sun protectionare ideal.

During the day, embrace comfort with resort wear and swimwear. As evening falls, enjoy relaxed elegance — think linen, cotton, and light fabrics for a refined yet effortless look.

You can stay as connected — or blissfully off-grid — as you wish. The resort provides complimentary Wi-Fi throughout all villas and public spaces, while mobile signal is generally reliable across the property.

A 10% service charge is included in your stay. While additional tips are not expected, they are always deeply appreciated by our team.

Morotai follows GMT+9 (Eastern Indonesia Time) — one hour ahead of Bali and two hours ahead of Jakarta.

HEALTH & SAFETY

Your well-being is our priority. A local clinic is located just five minutes away in Buho-Buho Village, and a larger hospital is available in Daruba town, about an hour’s drive from the resort. For critical emergencies, Ternate Island offers more advanced medical facilities accessible by air or sea.

There are no mandatory vaccinations for entry into Indonesia. We recommend ensuring your routine immunizationsare up to date and using mosquito protection suitable for tropical destinations.

Each villa is equipped with natural mosquito repellents and mosquito nets to ensure restful nights. Bottled and filtered water is always available and safe to drink throughout the resort.

Cultural Etiquette

Morotai’s people are warm, welcoming, and proud of their island heritage. A friendly “Selamat pagi” (good morning) or “Selamat sore” (good afternoon) is always met with a smile.

When exploring outside the resort, please dress modestly — covering shoulders and knees is a thoughtful way to show respect for local customs.

Morotai remains one of Indonesia’s last untouched paradises. We invite you to help preserve its pristine environment: avoid single-use plastics, respect marine life, and honor local traditions. Every small gesture helps sustain the magic of this island for generations to come.
